The Fellowship of Christian Home Educators (FoCHE)

The Fellowship of Christian Home Educators (FoCHE) organization was formed the summer of 2000 for families who home educate their children in the South Metro Area of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. FoCHE formed for the following purposes:

            1) To foster Christ-like fellowship among the member families and children.

            2) To provide a variety of social outlets for the parents and children.

            3) To provide a variety of group learning experiences for the children.

            4) To provide encouragement to the families throughout their home educating
                 journey.

            5) To provide educational opportunities to both those families considering home
                 educating and those families just beginning to home educate.

            6) To provide continuing education for more experienced family members.

Most of our communication and organizational information is through our Yahoo! group  groups.yahoo.com/group/FoCHE_Homeschool which is available to members only.    

 Our activities are planned at the beginning of each year with the involvement of member families.

 As of 2007-8 school year, we are scheduled to meet on Friday afternoons at Friendship Church in Shakopee, where we have access to the gymnasium and classrooms.  We will be doing unit studies on the state of Minnesota, the United States and different countries of the World for class time through the year.  For gym we’re planning lacrosse and baseball among other sports and activities.  There will also be related field trips, usually scheduled when the church is not available.

We welcome visitors to attend our activities--please send us an email for specific dates and times.  Non-members may attend two meetings before officially joining our group.
